Columbus Day Weekend Kids Events – our favorite fall family opportunity means more time to play with CT kids — seasonal fun with harvest, spooks, and lots of weekend family events during peak foliage and crisp blue skies…

Friday, 10/10

Portland Fair through Sunday.

Riverton Fair through Sunday.

Flashlight Corn Maze at Foster Family Farm, South Windsor every Friday & Saturday until 9:30 p.m. (last ticket sold at 9 pm).  Please bring flashlights!

The Haunted Isle at The Shore Line Trolley Museum,  East Haven through October 26.  The Haunted Isle is rated S “spooky” and is recommended for adults and mature children that do not have any health issues! Be sure that you wear good walking shoes as the Isle is a wooded path with many twists and turns. Be sure you can handle the frights of the Haunted Isle – there are no refunds.

Saturday, 10/11

The Pumpkin Patch opens at The Shore Line Trolley, East Haven @ 11am – 4pm. This is a non-spooky fall event for young children and families! Enjoy glorious fall foliage as you ride a vintage trolley car to the Patch.  For the more daring go to The Haunted Isle!

The Hartford Marathon & Half Marathon begins and ends at Bushnell Park, Hartford @ 8 a.m. (wheelchair starts at 7:55 a.m.). Travel the race course that combines the vibrancy of downtown Hartford with the autumn foliage and country roads along the Connecticut River (Saturday).  *FREE Admission to spectators*

While you’re in Hartford first walk over to the Wadsworth Atheneum for their monthly Free Family Day! In observance of the Hartford Marathon programming will take place in the afternoon from 1 – 4 pm. MUSEUM ADMISSION IS FREE ALL DAY, 10 AM – 5 PM.
