Bring your family and friends to Jack O Lantern Spectacular Nighttime Display at Roger Williams Park Zoo, an annual tradition with thousands of locally grown pumpkins!
October is always an exciting month at the Roger Williams Park Zoo, with the return of the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, nightly from October 5 – November 5. Thousands of locally grown, illuminated pumpkins line the Zoo’s picturesque Wetlands Trail, with over 125 carved into intricate designs by the dedicated workers at Passion for Pumpkins – the founders and creators of the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular.
The Passion for Pumpkins specialists will spend several weeks creating the magical display, working around the clock throughout the 32-night run to keep the show fresh for visitors.
The 2017 presentation will travel through time and visit with dinosaurs, explore the ice age, and peek into the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Rome. As guests wander the Wetlands trail they will delight in the history of the Middle Ages, discover the New World, and be fascinated by major inventions like cars, planes, space travel, and the computer. Infused throughout will be the art and music associated with each era.
The trail will also feature scenes with Humanitarian Heroes, Endangered Species, Mystery Science Theater, Rock Icons, and much more. Of course, Halloween favorites will be back including the dazzling Laughing Tree with its hundreds of illuminated pumpkins and iconic laughing music.
PLEASE NOTE: The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular Nighttime Display is open rain or shine, however, in cases of severe weather or weather-related technical difficulties we might close the event or end admission early. Please check website, Facebook and Twitter pages for frequent updates.
